Angelica archangelica. Fragrant, showy, chartreuse umbels rise 5-6 feet above this statuesque plant. Small, yellow, aromatic, edible fruits follow flowers. All plant parts have a mild licorice flavor. Attracts bees and butterflies. Plant in garden beds and butterfly gardens. Grows to 3' tall by 2-4' wide, up to 6' tall in the second year. Blooms form in the plant's second year between June and August. Full sun to part shade. Plant in rich, moist soil. Zones 5-7.
