Asclepias curassavica. An upright, herbaceous, multi-stemmed perennial having elongated foliage and producing flower clusters of scarlet-red and gold flowers. Attracts butterflies! May self sow. Asclepias is the only genus that Monarch Butterfly larva eat. Great in borders, beds and woodland gardens. Grows 3-4' tall by 2-3' wide. Blooms early summer to fall. Full sun. Plant in fertile, well-drained, loamy soil. Zones 9-11.
