Helianthus mollis. A native perennial having stout stems topped by large Sunflowers, with two rows of yellow ray petals and a gold/green center disc. Foliage is ovate, olive green and covered with fine hairs. Seed is prized by birds. Great in beds, borders, and naturalized. Grows 2-4' tall by 1-3' wide. Blooms mid summer to fall. Full sun. Plant in well-drained soil. Zones 4-9.
