Silene virginica. Perennial native to the eastern USA. Scarlet flowers with notched petals. Great for rock, wildflower, woodland or cottage gardens. Grows 12-20" tall. Blooms in spring. Best in part sun to part shade. Plant in well-drained soil. Zones 4-8.
