Armoracia rusticana. Perennial with long, deep taproot. Puckered green leaves. Best harvested after frost kills the tops. Great served with a roast or in a Bloody Mary! Plant in a sunny, isolated garden bed where it will be undisturbed by seasonal tilling. Grows 3' tall and wide. Blooms in mid summer. Full sun to part shade. Plant in moist, humus-rich soil. Zones 4-8.
