Levisticum officinale. Perennial herb with celery flavored culinary stems and foliage. Small greenish yellow flowers. Lovage seed is often sold as celery seed in the spice aisle and it makes a great substitute. Borders or large containers. Grows 2-6' tall by 2-3' wide. Blooms in spring. Full sun to part shade. Plant in rich, moist yet well-drained soil. Zones 4-8.
