Mentha ×villosa. Brought to the USA from Cuba many years ago. For the drink: 12 fresh leaves muddled, ½ lime juiced, 2 T simple syrup, 1.5 oz rum. Mix on ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a lime wedge or sprig of mint. Also delicious without the rum! Grow in herb gardens or containers. Grows 12-18" tall. Blooms in summer. Full sun to part shade. Plant in rich, moist, well-drained soil. Zones 5-9.
