Salvia officinalis. Perennial herb. Olive gray, large rounded leaves on bushy evergreen with dense compact habit. Short spikes of violet purple flowers bloom in summer. Prune to 6" in early spring. Good in borders, containers, and rock gardens. Grows 12-24" tall by 12-18" wide. Full sun. Plant in well-drained soil. Zones 4-9.
